Guidelines for Submitting Ad Artwork - DEADLINE March 1

Acceptable Software Applications:
• Adobe InDesign
• Adobe Illustrator
• QuarkXpress
• Adobe Photoshop

Preferred Format of PDF: Note that PDF files cannot be altered; if there is an error you will be responsible for fixing the ad.

• Embed all fonts on PDF files

• All colors in file and on photos converted to CMYK

Reminders For Disks:
• Convert all text to paths in Illustrator documents
• Colors should be converted to CMYK in art and ad files
• Include all logos and pictures used in creating your document
• Supply a font folder with a copy of required screen fonts and printer fonts.
If fonts are not provided we reserve the right to substitute fonts
• Please label your disk with a name and phone number in case there
are questions
• Include a hard copy or .pdf proof of your ad/artwork along with a
CMYK file if yours is a color ad

Photos:
• If using Adobe Photoshop, check “Use Printer Defaults” box in the Page
Setup window under Screen and Transfer buttons
• If possible, save photo as a .tif or .eps at 300 dpi.
• Scan images at 300 dpi at original scan - if scanned at a lower resolution and
changed to 300 dpi the file still retains the original low resolution - not 300 dpi
• Save color images as CMYK.
• Do not use photos off the Internet for print jobs - they are only 72 dpi and
cannot be changed to a higher resolution without rescanning the original
